From August 6th to 9th, 2023, the 29th Annual Meeting of Anatomy and Histology & Embryology of Six Provinces and One Municipality in East China and the 2023 Annual Meeting of the Shandong Anatomical Society were successfully held in Qingdao, Shandong Province. The meeting was hosted by the Shandong Anatomical Society and co-organized by Qilu Medical College of Shandong University and Medical College of Qingdao University. The theme of the meeting was: New Technologies and Developments in Anatomy. More than 150 anatomists from six provinces and one municipality, including Shandong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi , Anhui, and Shanghai, attended the conference .

At the opening ceremony, leaders from the organizers, sponsors, and relevant departments of the academic society delivered congratulatory speeches. The conference invited Professor Ouyang Jun from Southern Medical University, along with Professors Xu Jiajun and Liu Shuwei, as well as other experts from both inside and outside the province, to give keynote speeches.

Deren Education was invited to attend the conference. Professor Teng Chengyi, a technical expert from Deren Education, presented a report on "Construction Ideas and Explorations of a New Modern Anatomy Laboratory." The report was novel, comprehensive, scientific, and practical. Professor Teng elaborated on the concepts and approaches to building a new modern laboratory from six aspects: environmental protection and health, scientific practicality, digital intelligence, basic and clinical application, online and offline openness, and humanistic spirit. He also shared case studies from Deren Education and related domestic universities. Professor Teng's report combined theory and practice, tradition and modernity, and emphasized the integration of theory and practice, basic and clinical approaches. In conjunction with current curriculum-based ideological and political education, he stressed the importance of a "people-oriented" approach, emphasizing the inheritance and spirit of humanism and history. The report received unanimous praise from the attendees!

The conference included a paper presentation competition for young people. After a tense competition, the judges carefully and rigorously reviewed the papers and selected first, second, and third prize winners, as well as awards of excellence.

At the closing ceremony, Professor Li Zhenzhong, Chairman of the Shandong Anatomical Society, delivered the closing remarks, and awards were presented for the first, second, and third prizes and awards of excellence for the young researchers' presentation papers. The closing ceremony concluded with the handover of the hosting rights for the next (30th) conference of the anatomical societies of the six provinces and one municipality in East China, from the Shandong Anatomical Society to the Zhejiang Anatomical Society.

During the conference, Professor Liu Shuwei, Executive Director of the Chinese Anatomical Society and Chairman of the Cross-sectional Anatomy Branch, and Professor Li Zhenzhong, Chairman of the Shandong Anatomical Society, visited Professor Ding Shihai, a highly respected 95-year-old professor at the Medical School of Qingdao University. We were all heartened to see our senior Professor Ding in good health, high spirits, and full of energy. We also wished Professor Ding good health, longevity, happiness, and peace .

Deren Education actively supported and participated in the conference. At the conference, Deren Education also showcased its independently developed and produced high-fidelity anatomical models and various virtual digital software products with independent intellectual property rights, which were well received and appreciated by the participating representatives.
