From May 12 to 16, 2023, the 2nd Meeting of the Standing Council (Expanded) of the 17th Council of the Chinese Anatomical Society, hosted by the Chinese Anatomical Society and organized by Kashgar University, was successfully held at Kashgar University. More than 50 representatives from universities across the country attended the meeting .

Feng Guanjun, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Kashgar University, attended the meeting and delivered a welcome speech at the opening ceremony. On behalf of the university's Party Committee, Feng Guanjun extended a warm welcome to all the experts and colleagues and congratulated them on the successful convening of the meeting. He briefly introduced the university's history and the development of its medical school. He stated that the Chinese Anatomical Society is a national first-level academic society with a century-long history and has made significant contributions to the development of anatomy and medicine in my country.

Professor Li Yunqing, President of the Chinese Anatomical Society and Air Force Medical University, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. On behalf of the Chinese Anatomical Society, he thanked Kashgar University for its preparation and support for the conference. He stated that the holding of this conference is an important event in the more than 100-year history of the Chinese Anatomical Society. He hoped that the standing council members of the Chinese Anatomical Society would impart advanced concepts of running medical education in a comprehensive university to the Medical School of Kashgar University, provide academic research support, and strengthen academic exchanges.

At the meeting, Professor Li Yunqing, Chairman of the Board, donated teaching equipment to Kashgar University on behalf of the Chinese Anatomical Society.

The meeting was chaired by Professor Ma Chao, Vice President and Secretary-General of the Chinese Anatomical Society and Peking Union Medical College.

Prior to the opening ceremony, Ding Bangwen, Party Secretary of Kashgar University, also held a discussion with leaders and experts from the Chinese Society of Anatomy .

During the meeting, all participants discussed the various tasks of the Chinese Anatomical Society and reviewed the papers submitted to the 2023 Annual Meeting of the Chinese Anatomical Society.

At the conference, Mr. Zhong Haijiao, Chairman of Deren Education, delivered a report entitled "Construction Ideas and Exploration of Human Anatomy Laboratory" to all the participating representatives, which received unanimous praise and affirmation from the leaders and experts of the association.

During the conference, the association's leaders and delegates visited and learned about all the exhibition halls at the Kashgar University Ideological and Political Education Base. At the base, all participants listened attentively to the professional guide's comprehensive introduction to ideological and political education, carefully studied and discussed the content of all the chapters on ideological and political themes, and took photos at the base.

The choice to hold this conference in Kashgar, a famous historical and cultural city in China known as "five ports connecting eight countries and one road linking Eurasia," and at Kashgar University, a multidisciplinary undergraduate university in the westernmost part of the country whose mission is to cultivate applied talents for basic education and economic and social development, fully demonstrates the Chinese Anatomical Society's strong support and assistance to universities along the Belt and Road Initiative in implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.


From its inception, the Medical School of Kashgar University has attached great importance to the development of the discipline of human anatomy. The first phase of the medical school project has built basic teaching equipment and facilities such as an anatomy specimen bank, an anatomy laboratory, a digital anatomy laboratory, a morphology laboratory, a physiology laboratory, a pathogenic immunology laboratory, and a biochemistry laboratory.
