From November 24 to 27, 2023, the "First Teaching Model Innovation Design Competition and Vocational Education Anatomy Laboratory Consortium Conference" was successfully held at Xiamen Medical College, hosted by the Science and Technology Development and Consultation Committee of the Chinese Society of Anatomy, co-organized by Xiamen Medical College and the Fujian Society of Anatomy. Over 200 faculty representatives and medical students from more than 60 medical colleges nationwide participated in this conference and competition.

In this Teaching Model Innovation Design Competition, participants showcased their profound medical knowledge and creative designskills, injecting new vitality into the field of medical anatomy education. This competition was an innovative grand event in the medical anatomy field, aiming to explore and demonstrate the aesthetics and practicality of teaching model design.

Deren Science Education interacted with teachers and students who won first, second, and third prizes, and engaged in a live competition session with the awardees. The competition was presided over by Professor Dai Jingxing, Deputy Chairman of the Science and Technology Development and Consultation Committee of the Chinese Society of Anatomy. The atmosphere was intense, lively, and exciting, with fierce competition filling the venue.

Finally, "Deren Science Education" founder and Chairman Mr. Zhong Haizhen personally participated in the competition, competing with multiple works and becoming the manufacturer with the most competition model products.

The opening ceremony of the competition kicked off with Professor Rao Libing’s captivating harmonica performance of "The Waves of the Gulangyu Islet."

      Also attending the opening ceremony were Professor Cui Hui, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Society of Anatomy, Professor Xu Jiajun, Vice Chairman, and Professor Ding Wenlong, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, along with other leaders of the Society.

02 Highlights of the Competition and Showcase of Exquisite Works

      The competition featured diverse and rich works, including 3D models simulating human anatomy structures and functional organ models. These designs combined teaching and research functionality with aesthetics and practicality, achieving a perfect fusion of art and science.

        During the competition, the audience and judges thoroughly enjoyed the unique and creative works of the participants.

03Deren Showcase and Suggestions

This competition was not only a stage for students to showcase their innovative talents but also injected new momentum into the development of the medical anatomy field and related industries. Deren Science Education is committed to encouraging medical talents to actively participate in innovation and development in medical education. The success of this competition provided an opportunity for Deren to demonstrate its strength and creativity.

At the same time, as a professional manufacturer of anatomical models, we have some suggestions, mainly regarding the innovation and realism of the models. We hope that in future competitions, teachers and students can conduct preliminary research and searches before designing models, checking if similar models exist in the market or on manufacturers’ websites. This would greatly assist in fostering innovation.

         We firmly believe that this conference will inject new vitality into the future development of the medical education industry. Deren Science Education will continue to strive to promote innovation and progress in the medical education field, contributing greater strength to industry development.

04 Vocational Education Anatomy Laboratory Consortium Established!

     Simultaneously, on the morning of November 27, the founding conference of the Vocational Education Anatomy Laboratory Consortium, hosted by the Science and Technology Development and Consultation Committee of the Chinese Society of Anatomy, was successfully held at Xiamen Medical College.

      The conference conducted the election and establishment ceremony of the Consortium, electing 1 Chairman, 8 Vice Chairmen, 2 Secretaries-General, and several Executive Directors. After the election, the newly elected Chairman and Vice Chairmen took a group photo with the leaders of the Chinese Society of Anatomy.

     After the founding conference, multiple experts, including Professor Liu Xuezheng, Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Chinese Society of Anatomy, Professor Cui Hui, Vice Chairman, Professor Xu Jiajun, Vice Chairman, and Professor Xu Xudong from Jining Medical College, delivered special reports.

        The newly elected Chairman, Vice Chairmen, and Executive Directors also gave thematic reports. The establishment of the Consortium will play a significant role in promoting the construction of anatomy laboratories in vocational colleges, advancing the progress and standardization of anatomy technology, fostering inter-school laboratory construction exchanges and cooperation, promoting horizontal collaboration and collaborative education between schools and enterprises, and improving the construction of human anatomy in vocational colleges.

05Closing Remarks

This model competition fully demonstrated the creative ideas and designs of the teachers and students, bringing many innovative and practical models and ideas to teaching, and providing significant assistance for the formal development and production of many future models.
